IC³ has earned an American Council on Education (ACE) credit recommendation for college education in general education or computing literacy. From this recommendation, students can seek credit from the more than 1,800 accredited, degree-granting colleges, universities, and other education-related organizations that are members of ACE. (Please note: Colleges and universities accept ACE credit recommendations based on their own policies and requirements for each particular degree.)

The IC³ exams use the latest testing technologiesnotably, the ability to integrate both performance-based and knowledge-based questions into certification exams. This technology provides the fairest, most accurate testing experience possible.
Global Standard
Developed through a collaborative effort that included over 270 subject-matter experts in 19 countries, the IC³ program combines standards from numerous disciplines, including: Government Organizations, Computer Industry Associations, Training Providers, Workforce Services, Corporations, and Academia. This standard will continue to remain current though annual reviews by industry experts.
Professional Validation
Unlike many computer testing programs and assessments, the IC³ exams were created under the supervision of professional psychometricians and test developers with experience in the certification industry. This expertise ensures that the program fulfills all of the computer industry's highest standards for test development, integrity, and validity.
Foundation for Additional Certifications
Once individuals have successfully achieved IC³ certification, they are well prepared for career advancement through additional computer certifications. They readily move on to achieve desktop application-specific certifications as well as more advanced technical certifications such as CompTIA's A+.

The Start of ICT Careers
The Tech Career Compass (TCC) documents training and certification requirements for all jobs in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) around the world. TCC recognizes and places IC³ as the starting point for every ICT career. Managed by CompTIA, the TCC was developed through collaborative efforts of hundreds of leading companies in the computer industry.

Certiport offers global certification programs through secure and reliable test delivery systems established in thousands of authorized testing centers around the world. Each certification program is also supported by centralized candidate services that ensure consistence of certification results an candidate validation.
Authenticated Digital Transcripts
Certiport's Authenticated Digital Transcript service allows instant access to credentials anytime. IC³ candidates can log on to the secure Certiport web site to verify profile information, review current exams and certifications, and authorize other viewers to review your accomplishments. Thus, they can easily present their certification transcripts to employers, staffing agencies, academic institutions, and others.
Government Approval
IC³ is receiving industry and government recognition around the world. IC³ is the first computer certification to be recognized by the National Skill Standards Board (NSSB). The NSSB is a coalition of business, labor, employee, education, community, and civil-rights groups. Created in 1994, the NSSB has built a voluntary system of skill standards, assessment, and certification systems to enhance the ability of individuals to compete effectively in the global economy.
International Information Technology Support
ISTE is a nonprofit professional organization with a worldwide membership of leaders and potential leaders in educational technology. They are dedicated to promoting appropriate uses of information technology to support and improve learning, teaching, and administration in K-12 education and teacher education.
Home of the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) Project and the National Center for Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology (NCPT3), ISTE also represents and informs its membership regarding educational issues of national scope through ISTE-DC. They support a worldwide network of Affiliates and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and offer members the latest information through our periodicals and journals.
