iQsystem Patches
Windows Installer Patch
This patch may be required if using an older version of Microsoft Windows 98/2000. The installation program will prompt to download this patch if it is required to complete the installation process.
NOTE: DAO Patch and new Stability Exam Engine are included with iQsystem 4.2. Please update software to 4.2 to take advantage of these patches.
DAO Patch
This patch is required to run Microsoft Excel 2000 Expert and Microsoft Access 2000 exams. DAO was provided in prior iQsystem releases but was removed when the database was converted to an SQL database. The Microsoft Excel 2000 Expert and Microsoft Access 2000 exams still require DAO. The patch will be restored to future installations. In the meantime, please download and install this patch on Testing Workstations that are running Office 2000 exams.
Slammer Virus
The W32.SQLExp.Worm (SLAMMER) is a Category 3 worm that targets servers running Microsoft SQL 2000, and Microsoft SQL MSDE 2000. The worm sends 376 bytes to 1434/udp (the SQL Server Resolution Service Port), which will result in a Universal Broadcast causing the Local Area Network to be overloaded.
- Microsoft has an update to the SQL MSDE 2000 software, go to:

- Download the SQL Critical Update Kit:
- Run the self-extracting archive file which will create C:\SQLCritUpdPkg.
- Execute C:\SQLCritUpdPkg\SQLCritUpd\SQLHotFix_ENU.exe
