The Microsoft Innovative Teachers Programme is an initiative that supports
innovation and best practice in using ICT in UK schools. Following the success
of the Microsoft IT Academy Programme, the Innovative Teachers Programme continues
Microsoft's long-term investment in UK education and will help educators use
technology
in schools to connect and collaborate with colleagues.
Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³) has been selected by
Microsoft as a key measurement of skills developed through Microsoft’s
new Innovative Teachers Programme. The programme is an important continuing
professional development (CPD) effort to support innovation and best practices
in using Internet and Communications Technology (ICT) in UK schools. Participants
in the programme are encouraged to gain accreditation as part of an ongoing
commitment to CPD leading to new opportunities and even potential Microsoft
grants for collaborative learning projects.
