TESI Automazione and the Ministry of the Interior-Department of Public Security-Central Direction, Educational Institutes, Sign An Important Agreement Protocol
Milan (November 8, 2002) — TESI Automazione, leader in the Training sector, exclusive Italian distributor and Official Reseller for the EMEA area of the Microsoft Office Specialist certification program and Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³) distributor, together with the Ministry of the Interior - Department of Public Security - Central Direction of Educational Institutes implements a project aimed at training and certifying instructors and students at State Police Academies and Training Centers in both the Microsoft Office Specialist and IC³ programs. The adoption of the Microsoft Office Specialist and IC³ certification programs to certify the competencies of State Police personnel recognizes the need for ongoing skills improvement in order to better perform the varied duties of law enforcement officers.
The Department of Public Security acting in synergy with TESI Automazione is implementing an extensive program of courses in its training centers so they can become officially recognized Training and Certification Centers for Microsoft Office Specialist and IC³. This will simplify and facilitate the valuable process of teaching and validating essential computing skills.
The agreement foresees the certification of instructors as internationally recognized Microsoft Master Instructors and IC³ Authorized Instructors. These Police Instructors then have the task of implementing training programs in over 50 police academies and training centers. The training courses are aimed at providing knowledge and skills regarding IT basics, the Internet and the Microsoft Office suite of programs. The courses are aimed at achieving Microsoft Office Specialist and IC3 certification. The Italian Police institutes, thanks to the presence of these highly qualified staff (certified trainers), will deliver their own training programs aimed at having their students attain certification. This adds value to the quality training program already undertaken by the numerous students at the State Police institutes. In fact, these institutes trained over 9000 agents, superintendents and inspectors during the year 2001.
Agents, superintendents and inspectors of the State Police force, during their initial and ongoing training, thanks to this agreement, will be able to certify their computer skills using these internationally recognized certification programs. The choice of the Microsoft Office Specialist and IC³ certification programs on the part of the State Police reaffirms the status of these programs as quality driven and quality controlled training and certification programs, a quality that is especially essential in Public Administration training.
