Certiport Expands Operations in Utah
World Certification Leader Nears Two Million Certification Tests

SALT LAKE CITY – February 3, 2004 Certiport® today announced the expansion of its Utah based operations to new facilities in American Fork. The company has moved its headquarters operations to 24,000 square feet of new office space at 1276 S 820 E. This move renews Certiport’s commitment to growing Utah operations as it approaches the unparalleled mark of two million computer certification exams issued in the six years since company inception.

“ Utah is respected as a home for world leaders in technology,” said Governor Olene Walker. “These companies, like Certiport, will provide work opportunities for seasoned workers and the exceptional college graduates coming out of this state’s educational institutions.”

“ We are pleased with the continued success of Certiport and its network of testing centers around the globe,” said David Saedi, CEO for Certiport. “Computer certifications such as IC3® and Microsoft® Office Specialist have been viewed as a way to get ahead in challenging economic times. We are dedicated to growing our worldwide operations from Utah, which offers a uniquely qualified workforce that is both tech-savvy and well educated.”

Certiport employs more than one hundred workers, largely in Utah, and delivers certification testing in 18 languages through a global channel of more than 9,000 testing partners in 122 countries. The company has experienced 27 percent growth in exams delivered over the past year. Universities, community colleges, workforce development programs, and computer training centers deliver Certiport testing as a key component of training in digital literacy and desktop computer proficiency. This includes 60 testing centers in Utah including UVSC, DirectPoint, Serview, USU, SLCC, SUU and New Horizons.

Recent international recognition and legislative changes, such as the inclusion of “technology literacy” in Title II, Part D of the No Child Left Behind Act, places Certiport in a unique leadership role that will increase demand for its services in coming years. This growth is expected to create jobs in areas of test development, operations, computer and Web programming, as well as sales and marketing.
