Certification Provides Success in the “Free World”: The Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl, Mississippi, is a medium-security prison that houses the majority of the female inmates in the Mississippi correctional system. The facility houses male inmates with disabilities or long-term illnesses and receives inmates into the prison system before assigning and routing them to prisons of varying security levels throughout the state.

Rockford Business College: “Something amazing is happening at Rockford Business College”, said Scott Blanchard, the Technical Training Supervisor at Rockford Business College. “The students are using their certification as a tool to land a job when they leave college.

Chaminade College Preparatory Middle School: As a middle school computer science teacher, Patti Grammatis says Microsoft Office Specialist certification has been a tremendous motivation for her 8th grade students. She remarked, “Rather than just learning word processing, this certification has helped them focus their attention on an international industry-recognized certification.”

DDC Training Services: As a company that has evolved with the rise of technology and computers, DDC Training Services (DDC), formerly a division of DDC Publishing, Inc., is well versed in adapting to meet the ever-changing technical needs of users. While its products have changed dramatically since the days of shorthand practice records and cassettes, DDC's mission-to help educators provide step-by-step classroom training on the latest workplace technologies-has not.

East-West University: With the implementation of the Microsoft Office Specialist program, students at East-West University now enjoy the opportunity to earn this certification in addition to a college degree. Dr. Ekkehard Wilke, Dean of Program Development, explained the primary reason for adopting the program: “Microsoft Office Specialist certification allows the University to combine practical skills and academia to give our students a competitive edge in the job market.”

Fullerton College: Microsoft Office-certified faculty at Fullerton College guide students toward career success as Microsoft Office Specialists, serving businesses and simultaneously creating a win-win-win situation among students, the State of California, and the College.

Interface Computer School: Realizing the importance of verifying quality training with certification, Interface Computer School (ICS) became a Certiport Center to offer Microsoft Office Specialist certification to students. “Certification is an important trend in the IT Industry. We know employers now look for certifications when hiring, and naturally we want them to hire our students,” said President Dave Wilson.

Kankakee Community College: Using innovative approaches to training and offering certification to students enrolled in various programs, Kankakee Community College adapts to meet the needs of employers and students alike.

Middle Bucks Institute of Technology: Middle Bucks Institute of Technology in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, is a career and technical school that offers Microsoft Office Specialist certification to high school students from four neighboring school districts to help prepare them for the college and work environments.

North Fort Myers High School: Four years ago, Steve DeShazo, principal of North Fort Myers High School in North Fort Myers, Florida, requested business education teachers at the school offer technology certification with their courses. Shortly thereafter, business education teacher Becky Pacl learned about the Microsoft® Office Specialist certification while attending a Florida Educational Technology Conference.

Pepperdine University: The proliferation of computers in the workplace presents a new challenge to academic institutions seeking to prepare students for careers in this new environment. Pepperdine University has met this challenge by implementing Microsoft Office Specialist certification into their curriculum at the Graziadio School of Business.

Pillsbury Winthrop, LLP: Pillsbury Winthrop, an international law firm, enjoys the benefits of Microsoft Office Specialist certification by requiring the certification of all their Document Production Center employees.

Southern Oregon University: The demand for business graduates with information technology (IT) skills continues to increase as IT systems become an integral part of companies everywhere. Neeley School of Business made Microsoft Office Specialist certification a requirement for all business majors and minors.
