Vocational/Workforce Training
Training classes designed to meet the working individual’s education and training goals are usually short-term, credit-free, conveniently scheduled, and do not require lengthy preparation. Registration is available to everyone, usually without transcript, grade, academic or residential requirements. For most colleges, class expenses are supported by registration fees, and not by taxpayers’ dollars.

Many community colleges have already bundled their training classes with certification opportunities. For example:

As students finish their training in Microsoft® Office they must complete a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification exam in the application the class covered, such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel; or

Following basic technology courses, students are asked to pass IC³ Certification exams to provide a standardized and unbiased computing measurement criteria to individuals in the class.

In addition, active duty military personnel, veterans, and their family members taking exams in the Microsoft Office Specialist certification program can now use their Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits to cover examination fees. More information on this opportunity is available here.

As a Certiport Center, you can combine training with testing to help individuals earn a certificate that may help them make a career change, qualify for a promotion, find a new job, learn a new skill or enter the work force.
